Define: An object that resist change in the state of motion. An unbalanced force can alter the constant motion of any objects inertia. If a snowboarder is going down a hill at a constant speed, but a skier runs into a snowboarder from a side angle the skiers unbalanced force would alter the inertia of the snowboarder thus affecting his motion down the hill. Inertia is proportional to mass. So that a bigger mass is resist changing more so than smaller masses.
Units: (based or derived): Measure of resistance to the change in velocity.
Unlike weight, inertia is .... resistance in a horizontal acceleration by a force other than the general word gravity.
Unlike force , inertia is........ an object at rest stays at rest without a force being applied to it.
