Normal:

Define: A force based on action-reaction. Any force acting on a surface from a right angle is a normal force. But its absent of friction.

===Explain:inclined_plane.gifThe normal force is the force perpindicular the surface an object is on. It is the force that supports the object on the surface. In the picture gravity is pushing downwards on the object, and normal force is pushing the object upwards with the same force, holding it in place. ----

Examples:

The force of gravity is pushing an object downwards on a surface with 50 newtons of force. What is the magnitude of the normal force?
The normal force = the gravitational force.
50 = 50
The normal force pushes upwards on the object with a force of 50 newtons.
