Transverse wave:

Define:

A transverse wave with the same perpendicular direction of the propagation the particle displacement travels. The particles oscillate from up to down and from down to up from there own individual equilibrium point as the wave moves along by. If you watch just one particle you'll notice the individual movement.

Unlike longitudinal waves, transverse waves... Oscillate up and down, ant the particles are perpendicular to the propagation.
